A hit-and-run driver abandoned his car after running down and killing a father of two and a 56-year-old man in Brooklyn early Monday.

A speeding driver in an Acura TL sedan barreled down Fulton St. near Chestnut St. in Cypress Hills at 12:10 a.m. and struck the men as they crossed, along with two cars parked under the J train tracks.

The victims — Delmer Maldonado, 41, and Israel Turcios, 56 — had just left a nearby bar and were walking together when the collision occurred.

Police found them lying unconscious on Fulton St.

Maldonado died at the scene and Turcios was rushed to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition, but did not survive.

A description of the suspected hit-and-run driver was not immediately available. The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is probing the incident.

Maldonado's longtime girlfriend Milli Muniz said their 12-year-old autistic son Leo Maldonado is struggling to understand what happened.

"He was good with his son. (Leo) loves his dad," she said. "I don't think it's registering. He kind of says, 'Is dad OK?' and then he starts crying."

Maldonado, who immigrated to New York from Honduras, also leaves behind a second son from another relationship who lives in his native country.

Muniz said she went to the scene after Maldonado's brother told her of the tragedy.

"I went to the scene and I just, I couldn't really be there too long ... I just saw the blanket covering him," she said. "It was really hard."

It was a grim night on city roads. A crash in the Bronx also left two people injured, one critically.

Cops and firefighters responded to a five-car wreck on Baychester Ave. by Donizetti Place in Co-op City around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

A 31-year-old woman was traveling with her passenger when Corey Jordan, 35 — who was drunk and driving without a license — rear-ended her and triggered a domino effect of collisions, police said.

Jordan was charged with driving drunk, reckless endangerment, driving without a license and criminal possession of marijuana.

The female driver was in critical but stable condition. The passenger suffered a minor head injury and was listed as stable.
