An autopsy will be performed on a 30-year-old Morristown woman who died Saturday morning, hours after she had been booked into the Greene County Detention Center.

Rachel Lynne Reinhardt, 30, of Clearview Road, was booked into the jail about 3:40 a.m. Saturday on a violation of probation warrant. Reinhardt was taken into custody in Hawkins County and was turned over to Greene County deputies early Saturday, Sheriff Pat Hankins said.

Reinhardt had a history of cardiac issues. She had a medical "episode" about six hours after being brought to the jail and was pronounced dead Saturday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital, Hankins said.

Foul play is not suspected, he said.

Reinhardt previously had open heart surgery and had a Pacemaker installed, Hankins said.

Reinhardt was in a cell with other inmates shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday when she had the medical "episode," Hankins said.

"She was in a cell with three other women when she started having trouble (and) she yelled at the corrections officers," he said.

The other inmates also alerted corrections officers, who called in Greene County-Greeneville EMS. Reinhardt was taken to Laughlin Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about 11 a.m. Saturday.

Reinhardt listed a Bulls Gap address when she appeared in Greene County General Sessions Court in March.

The autopsy will be performed at the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center at East Tennessee State University.

"She was a 30-year-old female. That's pretty young," Hankins said. "We won't know what the cause of death is until we get an autopsy back."

Detectives from the sheriff's department investigated the incident.

"There was nothing suspicious about the death," Hankins said.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will review the findings of the sheriff's department investigation as a matter of policy, Hankins said.

In June, Reinhardt appeared in Greene County General Sessions Court and was ordered to pay court costs, sentenced to 10 days in jail, and had her probation continued and extended 11 months for violation of probation.

Reinhardt's death is the second of a Greene County Detention Center inmate in the last two months. On July 2, inmate Robert Allen Belt, 39, who listed an address on Whitehouse Road, was found unresponsive in a one-person cell by a correctional officer.

His death is also believed to be related to a medical condition. Pending unexpected final autopsy results, the investigation into Belt's death is complete, Hankins said in July.
