Dr. Christopher Todd Poulsen passed away on September 2, 2018, after a hard-fought battle against metastatic melanoma.

Born August 10, 1973, in Salt Lake City, UT, Chris accomplished more in his 45 years than many who live a full lifetime. In his early 30's, after working nearly 10 years in the advertising industry, Chris decided to change careers completely to provide a more fulfilling life for his family. He spent four years in dental school at the University of Iowa, followed by three more years of post-doctoral specialty training in periodontology. The good doctor then purchased a periodontal practice near Coeur d'Alene, ID, where he and his family lived happily for four years.

Chris loved being outdoors. Whether he was hiking, biking, snowboarding, fishing, camping, or hanging out lakeside, he was content. He loved the mountains. He loved movies (the bigger the action, the better) and he loved indulging in his 10:00 p.m. dessert.

But, more than anything else, Chris loved his family. He was unquestionably devoted to his wife, Jenny, whom he absolutely adored, and their four children, daughter Riley, and sons Ashton, Aiden, and Anders.

Chris believed in giving back to the community that supported him. He volunteered his time and talents with United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy Scouts of America, Give Kids a Smile, and more. He also served an LDS mission to Des Moines, IA, which led him to return to the state for his dental schooling.

In addition to his wife and children, Chris is survived by his parents, Richard Allen Poulsen and wife Dayl Marlayne Poulsen; sister Heather (Vince) Olsen; brother Kirk (Mikaela) Poulsen; sister Kimberlee (Aaron) Bigelow; and sister Lindsey Gomm.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington 15th Ward Chapel, 347 S. 200 W., Farmington, UT. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Farmington City Cemetery, Farmington, UT.
