On Saturday, September 22, 2018 Steven Troy Monger passed away at the age of 38. After so many challenges and stresses, his mind wasn't ready, but his body decided it was time he was on his way, time to ramble on.

Troy was born on February 12, 1980 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Toni and Steven Monger. He was raised and lived his entire life in the Salt Lake City area. On October 21, 2005 he married his best friend, Katie Bringhurst. After much effort, they welcomed daughter Charlotte Terry into their lives on October 22, 2015. She brought so much joy and happiness into his life. Charlie was his "baby girl".

Troy loved good music, playing his guitar, reading, hanging out with friends and family, poker and wishing his football teams were better. He was a great friend and support to those that needed it most, and always took time to listen to people whether he agreed with them or not. His sense of humor would always lighten the mood, even when things seemed the darkest. He endured so much with such strength and patience; good times, bad times, you know he had his share! His personality and presence will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.

He is survived by his wife Katie; daughter Charlie; his mother Toni Uhrhan (husband Byron); father Steven Monger (wife Carollee); former step father Rory Neale (wife Debbie); sister Kimberly Neale; brother Taylor Monger; stepsister Jessica Uhrhan; stepbrother Skyler Uhrhan; grandma Joleen Stephenson; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of Troy's life at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah 84123, on Tuesday October 2, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm. Come as you are, we will just be visiting and reminiscing, surrounded by music Troy loved (for those about to rock). There will be no formal program, just memories, laughs, and tears, but some have been asked to share a few words which will happen around 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Go Fund Me page set up for Katie.
