The Nevada Highway Patrol says a woman was killed in an early-morning crash on U.S. 395 between White Lake Parkway and Red Rock Road.

It was reported just before 5:45 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018.

NHP says 19-year-old Cara Ayers of Reno was headed north on 395 in a Chevrolet Cavalier, north of Red Rock Road. She drifted off the right side of the road and onto the shoulder, then overcorrected to the left and across both northbound travel lanes. The car entered the center median and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels. Ayers, the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

As part of the investigation, the Nevada Highway Patrol would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash. Witnesses are asked to contact Trooper Steve Moore of the Nevada Highway Patrol at 775-687-9600 or smoore@dps.state.nv.us
