Scott L. Russ,49 of Seminole, FL formerly of Joliet, passed away January 10, 2020.
Scott was born in Joliet attending St. Mary Nativity, graduating in 1984 and attended Plainfield High School, graduating in 1988. Scott worked at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino as a Table Game Supervisor in Tampa, FL. When he wasn't working he enjoyed playing golf, going to concerts, and going to movies, which all consisted of his love for Dr. Pepper. He had a passion for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Bears. Scott also loved partaking in family outings which consisted of the traditional trip to Vegas.
Surviving are his sister Corrinne Russ, brother Greg Russ, sister Cassie (John) Olsen, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Numerous aunts and uncles also survive.
Preceded in death by his grandparents Chester "Ben" and Helen Nurczyk and George and Sylvia Mackey; parents John Russ and Janice (Mackey) Russ, brother John Russ and sister Deana Russ.
Scott will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Cremation Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a service at 6:30 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family with the planning of his absence would be appreciated.
