I wonder what it was about the computer that they were fighting over.  It seems a crazy think to kill your brother over.  Whatever happened to just hitting your siblings when you fell out?

RIP Thaddaeus

This is just like a story about a kid who lives near me.  Except the kid who did the stabbing was like 13.  I think I may have posted it on here,  but I am not sure.

Not me, I have 2 brothers, and one lives with me and the other I am always with.  I don't know what would drive you to stab your brother.  Especially fightning over a computer.  Huh? <----All that comes to mind.

My sister is five years older than me.  We used to fight constantly, physical not just verbal.  We both have scars and injuries caused by each other but I can't ever imagine either of us doing something like this to each other.  I have a really bad temper and she is the one person in the world who knows how to push my buttons but I would never do anything that resulted in her death.

I work at the church that hosted his funeral - and heard a lot about the case.  Supposedly the stabbing was an accident - and Thaddaeus even told the police/EMTs that when they arrived.  The brother was trying to get him to the hospital - and they even allowed him (after posting bail) to travel and attend the funeral.

The brother looked like an absolute wreck at the funeral.  Had to be held up, and never took off his sunglasses.  A lot of family support for him, as well.

Well we did have that one stabbing over a pack of bubble gum. Sibling angst is some serious business.

Thanks for the information.  I don't condone stabbing your brother but it must be a hard thing to have to live with.

How does one accidentally stab another person while arguing over a computer? I'll bet they both wanted to get on MySpace at the same time.

Yea really.
I could see if he pushed him and he hit his head on the end of a table,
of if he hit his brother in the throat and he died after that.
But who wields knives during bullshit arguments?

I am sure he's sorry, but it makes me question the character of a person that would involve a knife in a bullshit argument.

Yea, if the guy's thought process is "someone disagrees with me, let me get my knife!" it's makes you wonder what else he's done.

It could have been the situation where he wanted to scare his brother.  The brother came at him not really expecting the other to stab him.  Or maybe he tried to disarm his brother of the knife resulting in getting stabbed.

Sorry man. I usually play devil's advocate right along with people, but grabbing a knife is serious business.
Whether you're going to stab someone, or not.
It's a knife man...a knife!

And if Thaddaeus was trying to disarm his brother, then Thaddaeus thought his brother might actually stab him.

I think there's a chance that he never intended on stabbing his brother and was trying to scare him like you suggest.  It just makes me wonder what kind of a person would pull a knife on their own brother, even if it was just to scare him.

I guess I'm just playing the scenario in my head where one grabs the knife tells the brother that he'll use it if he doesn't let him use the PC.  Maybe in the manner that he says it it isn't serious.  Thaddaeus confronts him knowing all too well that he won't do anything and they get in a fight over the knife.

We can't just assume that Langston grabbed the knife and simply stabbed him.  It doesn't mean that its not true either though.

So is it bad if I feel no remorse whatsoever for a guy that would pull a knife on his own brother?
If he does that to his brother, what would he do to you or me?
I'm glad he's locked up for this. That actually makes me feel that society is just a little bit safer.

Pulling a knife on someone isn't a fucking joke.
Does he pull guns on people for a REALLY big laugh?!?

I'm not making a judge on character on you, Ron, but aren't you one of the advocates that guns are unnecessary?  I guess since I've grown up around the environment where guns and knives are abundant I don't think about them as only deadly weapons.  I've even disarmed a girlfriends brother once when he went at her with a knife and I didn't think much of it.

This is probably why I don't get up to the article threads.  cheesy

I'm trying to remain optimistic, but its hard to do anymore.  The user who said above that the brother seemed destroyed at the funeral could have been told to do so by his attorney.

There are scenarios for this situation that we may not know.  Both brothers were athletes so for one to feel the need to grab a knife could mean that the other was also threatening his life.

Guns and knives are abundant!?!?? Sounds like a prison!!

Yea, I don't see where these things need to be lying around. Knives and guns and such.
If you pull something, then that means you're going to use it.
And lethal force is going to be involved.

Seriously dude....a knife or a gun that gets pulled on someone isn't a deadly weapon?
What are you, a felon, or a defense attorney?

cheesy

Well in Omaha you can carry a gun around town all you want if you have a permit.  I grew up in a small rural town where lots of people were hunters.  Even my parents own guns and they don't hunt.  They were hand me downs from my grandpa.

A gun or a knife is not a deadly weapon.  Its the manner its used that makes it deadly weapon.   You can't automatically convict Langston for the charges he had.  Thadaeus could have had the knife first.  Lots of "could haves" here that we can't really say for sure what happened.

How am I doing so far at my stint of being a defense attorney?
