Police will ask prosecutors to press unspecified charges against the teen driver in last month's car crash that killed two 18-year-old passengers in Gary, Indiana, a spokesman said Wednesday. Cmdr. Sam Roberts said Gary police will ask the Lake County prosecutor to charge Darius Moore, 17, who lost control of his car on September 15 and ran into a ravine, killing his friends Dominique Green and Brandon Smith. We now know the names of the teenage girls who died in a car crash yesterday near Walker. The crash happened at about four in the afternoon on Duff Road, just north of the railroad tracks. Livingston Sheriff's Spokesman Jason Ard says deputies believe the driver lost control of the car after hitting the railroad tracks. The speed limit there is thirty-five miles an hour. Many people will miss Sierra Fauver. She had "beautiful green eyes" and a "quirky smile," according to her mother, Theresa Fauver. A senior in high school, Sierra was a Jonathan Alder student enrolled at Tolles Career and Technical Center. She was a varsity letterman on the Pioneer volleyball team. She was an accomplished equestrian and former 4-H member. Sierra's life ended abruptly after a crash on state Route 38 near Blaugher Avenue, just north of Newport, at 11:54 p.m. Saturday. The crash involved a 1996 Nissan Maxima, driven by Nicholas A. Jenkins, 18, of London. Jenkins was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle, according to a press release from the West Jefferson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. read more...
