From a guestbook comment - For the past few years I haven't been able to gather the right words to express how a great friend you was. I still think of you as a great friend and a great soldier that once lived on this earth to serve his country with honor and loyalty. I can't belive how destiny works its way to unite old friends. I can't believe that from the place we meet in Queens to a the base in Texas to NYC, from U.S to Iraq we where able to write to each other. Even though we wrote about meeting again, God had other plans which had been writing before us. So we where not able to meet on earth but who knows one day I will meet up with you in heaven. Heaven, a place now you share with your platoon buddy Gabriel Barajas, who pass away in a car accident on Nov 3, 2005, a month before his birthday. I miss you guys very much. I think God serves himself from the best, our loved one's, and takes them into his kingdom. I will always admire the courage and dedication. Hope to make you guys proud one day. read more...

The Lancaster County Sheriff's office says Thompson fell from a vehicle traveling about 25 miles per hour early Tuesday on the way home from a party in Hickman. One teenager is dead and two others were clinging to life late Friday after the car they were traveling in fishtailed and was struck by another vehicle on a rain-slicked stretch of Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, police said. The car's unlicensed, 16-year-old driver, Travis Holtzman of Riverdale, apparently lost control at 10:41 a.m. Friday while rounding a bend near the Pompton Lakes border, police said. The westbound 2003 Pontiac Sunfire spun out into the eastbound lanes and was broadsided by a 2000 Buick Regal. Carraway suffered significant head trauma and other injuries. A female driver died in a fiery crash Friday night after her car collided with the back of a big rig on westbound Interstate 580. The driver was speeding in the right hand lane, when she hit the big rig about 10 p.m. just west of the Foothill Road offramp, just outside of Dublin, said California Highway Patrol Officer Donald Beringer. The Ford Mustang caught fire and the woman could not get out. The flames engulfed the car. A Lakewood High School student who died in a car crash Saturday was identified as Karlie Jo Kaska by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office Monday. Kaska died after the car she was in veered off 188th Street Northeast near Arlington, crashed through a fence and struck a tree before coming to rest in an open field about 9:20 p.m., according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. Of the two other students in the car, one was in intensive care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Monday and the other was released from the hospital and was at home, according to an e-mail sent by the Lakewood School District. read more...
