An Antrim County man died Monday from injuries he sustained when the go-cart he was riding crashed. The Antrim County Sheriff's Office identified the deceased as Michael Fales, 18, of Ellsworth. Police said emergency crews were called to Fales' home on Sinclair Road near Pleasant Hill Road at about 3:33 p.m. Authorities said it appears Fales was attempting to jump the base of his driveway when the go-cart he was riding rolled on top of him causing serious head and chest injuries. read more...

Jodi Heck, 26, was a resident of Fort Irwin. She was the wife of Spc. Benjamin Heck of the First Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry. Heck's Toyota 4Runner was traveling northbound on Irwin Road when she slid onto the right shoulder and lost control of the vehicle. When it re-entered the roadway, it slid sideways into oncoming traffic, according to a California Highway Patrol report. read more...

James Pezzimenti (21) was traveling in his bright red motorized wheelchair when it stalled and a car hit and killed him
Police said a Ford hit Pezzimenti from behind while he was traveling in his bright red motorized wheelchair in the 7400 block of Stirling Road in Davie about 3:15 a.m. Saturday. Pezzimenti was returning to NSU after visiting friends in Davie. The wheelchair had reflectors on the back and on the sides, family members said. They think he may have stalled while attempting to cross the street. The driver didn't stop after running over Pezzimenti, police said. If found, the driver will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, said Davie Lt. Bill Bamford. read more...

Rebecca Partain, 20, of 123 Old Chimney Court, Midland, died from injuries suffered in a one-car accident on Manchester Expressway near Reese Road about 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Partain was a passenger in a car driven by Joseph Ryan McConnell, 22, who was arrested and charged with first-degree homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence. Williams, a senior at Piscataway High School, was driving a 2001 Chevy Cavalier on Old New Brunswick Road at about 11:40 a.m. when, for an unknown reason, he lost control on a curved section of the roadway. More than two weeks after Wade Lurk disappeared, his car and body were pulled from Goose Creek Lake on Monday. Authorities believe the teen accidentally drove into the lake and drowned after a late night party. The car was 75 feet from the edge of a boat ramp. It was by chance three fisherman in two boats spotted the car. Fisherman Randy Houchin said, "I was on the back of the boat and I looked down and I could see the big square top of the car."
