Tyler Matthew Moore, 22, of Harpers Ferry, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, Va.
He was born Nov. 14, 1984, in Petersburg, and was the son of William "Bill" L. Moore, of Maysville, and Debra (Mayle) Lambert, of Harpers Ferry. He was preceded in death by a paternal grandfather, Robert L. Moore.
Mr. Moore was a junior at Hocking University in Nelsonville, Ohio. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in 2003. He was active in many sports and placed sixth in the National Wrestling Competition.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmother, Nancy Moore, of Maysville; stepfather, Klayton Lambert, of Harpers Ferry; stepsister, Danielle Nettles, of Parsons; maternal grandparents, Carl and Judy Mayle, of Petersburg; paternal grandparents, Roy and Beulah Bennett, of Petersburg; and paternal grandmother, Linda Moore, of Maysville. Also surviving are Carla and Brace Heit, of Hedgesville, and Josh and Mary Green, of Walker.
Friends will be received at the Memorial Church of the Brethren, Petersburg, from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Memorial Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Harold Cullers officiating.
There will also be a memorial service at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town, with the Rev. Richard A. Kroll officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tyler M. Moore Trust Fund, c/o Grant County Bank, 3 North Main St., Petersburg, WV 26847.
