A 30-year-old Tonkawa man has died from injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle accident in Kay County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the accident involving Christopher R. Thomas happened between 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday on a gravel road about sixth-tenths of a mile west of Ponca City.

Troopers say Thomas was alone in his vehicle when it hit water in the roadway, causing him to lose control. The vehicle went into a broadslide, started to roll and hit a power pole before coming to rest on its top.

Thomas died at the scene.
