Residents at an apartment complex in Montgomery County said they've had enough of the violence that's occurring in their neighborhood.

In one night, two young men were found shot to death inside their cars.

Angela Stanford said she knew she wanted to move away from Orchard Park apartments two weeks ago, when she spotted gang graffiti outside her window.

"Right by my bedroom window while we were sleeping. That's the frightening thing," said Stanford.

The latest incident was a shooting that occurred around 3:30 a.m. Sunday only a few buildings away from Stanford.

Someone called 911 to report that shots were fired at the apartment complex. Police arrived to find Joseph Alderman, 21, shot to death inside a car.

Just two minutes later, someone else called 911 to report a gunshot victim in a car along Helton Drive. Eric Peterson, 24, later died at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Police said he was also shot at the Orchard Park apartment complex but managed to drive to another location.

Police admit they've been to the apartment complex several times before for disturbances.

"It's got its ups and downs like any apartment complex. To say it's better or worse, I can't say," said Andy Bechtold of the Clarksville Police Department.

Police won't say if the incidents might have been drug-related, if the victims shot each other or if more people might've been involved.

However, neighbors call this another gang-related incident.

The mother of two said she can't help but wonder what if one of her children was injured.

"What if a stray bullet was to hit one of them. I just thank God it didn't," said Stanford.

Police don't believe either of these victims actually lived at that apartment complex. Anyone with information about this case should call Clarksville police.
