A 14-year-old boy has died of burns suffered last week while burning magazines, using paint thinner as a fire accelerant. Jeffrey Carpenter and his brother were burning the magazines behind their home on Scholls School Road in Richland Township when he caught fire. Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says he might have had paint thinner on his clothing. Jeffrey was a ninth grader at the Quakertown school district's freshman center.
