Angelica Zaipiene, 17, of Gustine died Saturday in a single-car crash near Gustine. Zaipiene was a passenger in a car driven by Viviana Salinas, 26, of Santa Nella. Salinas was driving north on Highway 33 when she lost control and struck a pole early Saturday, according to a California Highway Patrol report. Salinas suffered major injuries, and was taken to Memorial Hospital Los Banos. She was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
