Kent Louis Cofield, 24, Burns Flat

Cofield died at the scene of a fiery crash Sunday on U.S. 183 in Clinton in Custer County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. Cofield was driving north when he tried to turn his tractor-trailer rig onto westbound Interstate 40 about 6:35 p.m., troopers said. The rig was going too fast for the turn and fell on its side, exploded and burst into flames.

It was not known Monday whether Cofield was wearing a seat belt, the highway patrol reported.
