Two Cushing teenagers were killed Thursday afternoon in a fiery crash south of Cushing on Kings Highway. The accident occurred between 4:00 and 4:30 PM between Texaco and Eseco Roads about half a mile north of the Cimarron Correctional Facility.
The Highway Patrol is not releasing the victims names pending identification by the State Medical Examiners office.
Other sources have confirmed to KUSH that the victims are Ashley Roe and Courtney Marcum.
Lt. Jeff James of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KUSH that the vehicle, a gray 4-door Mazda was southbound on Kings Highway when the driver lost control of the car, which ran off the road and struck some trees before catching fire. James says that the preliminary investigations indicates that speed may have been a factor in the accident.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Brian Conaghan.
Also responding to the accident were the Cushing Police Department, and Cushing Fire Department.
