Trevor Lee Gennette, 26, Manhattan, Kan., formerly of Concordia, passed on January 4th, 2010, at his residence in Manhattan. He was born August 9, 1983, at St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia, Kan., to Todd L. Gennette and Diana L. Carlow Stupka. He attended Concordia public schools and graduated in 2002. Trevor participated in a variety of sports, including football, wrestling, hunting and baseball. Football was by far his favorite sport, and he holds several Concordia High School receiving records. He was currently employed by Stupka Construction, Concordia, Kan., where he was recently promoted to foreman. As the older brother of Ty and Danae, he influenced their lives and helped make them who they are today. Trevor loved being surrounded by family and friends. The recent knowledge of welcoming a child, with girlfriend Katie Hale, filled him with immense joy. He was always a happy and upbeat person and leaves behind many friends and family. His great attitude and infectious smile will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his father, Todd Gennette, Concordia, Kan.; mother, Diana Stupka and husband Cary, Concordia, Kan.; brother, Ty Gennette, Manhattan, Kan.; sister, Danae Gennette, Concordia, Kan.; girlfriend, Katie Hale, Frankfort, Kan.; grandparents: Randy and Gloria Carlow, Plainfield, Conn.; grandparents: Virginia and Jim Newton, Salina; grandparent: Marilyn Weisphal, Atwood, Kan.; uncle, Mike Gennette, Wichita; aunts, Janice Gordon, Wichita, and Patty Davis, Salina; uncle, Jack Gennette and wife Barb, Hesston, Kan., aunts, Cindy Breault and husband Danny, Lanett, Ala., and Debbie Sallman and husband Carl, Clifton, Kan.; uncles, Greg Gennette and Tom Gennette, both of Concordia; aunt, Susan Nemecheck, Salina; uncles, Dan Carlow and wife Shelly, Topeka, and Chris Stupka and wife Carla, Concordia; aunt, Cecelia Moss and husband Tommy, Minlow, Kan.; uncle Curtis Stupka and wife Deanna, Concordia.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leon and Ila Gennette and Charles Weisphal.
Funeral services are at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, on Monday, January 11, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will be in St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia.
Vigil Services will be at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 W. 6th St., Concordia, KS 66901. Visitation is from 1-9 p.m., Sunday, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
