Carol, a resident of Castro Valley, passed away peacefully at home with her family and friends by her side on Sunday, April 18th after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 54.

She was born on December 8,1955 in Michigan, attended college in Oregon and settled in the Bay Area in the early 80's. She worked in the food service industry for 27 years.

Her passions included scrap booking, sewing, entertaining, going to the beach and volunteering for organizations such as Cub
Scouts, Booster Clubs, PTA, and always stepped up to be team mom.

Her greatest joy was watching her son Brian play sports, especially football.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Bernard, their son Brian; her two
brothers, Theron Russell & William Russell; and a sister, Pam Levander.

Carol was loved by all and was an inspiration to all that knew her. Her passing will leave a huge void in many lives.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Carol's life on Monday, May 3,
2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Castro Valley First Baptist Church, 18550 Redwood
Road.
