TERPSTRA, Dirk Stewart Jay
Of Kalamazoo
Passed away February 24, 2010 at Bronson Hospital. He was born October 22, 1983 in Kalamazoo, to Jay S. and Gail (Kromminga) Terpstra. Dirk enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 15, 2007 and served until his passing. Dirk loved his family and friends above all else. He was known to find humor in just about everything and he enjoyed taking care of others in need. Among Dirk's many interests were, collecting hats of all kinds, he
enjoyed a wide variety of
music and he loved the game of football, especially after
finally meeting Barry Sanders in person. Surviving Dirk
are; his mother, Gail (Jay) Jarboe of Kalamazoo; father, Jay Terpstra of New Mexico; sister, Tess Terpstra of
Kalamazoo; brothers, Justin and Brandon Terpstra of
Kalamazoo; step-sister, Jamie Campbell of Greenville, SC; grandparents, Justin (Sandra) Kromminga and Donna Vliestra; nephew, Jared McLemore; and Godson, Gage Homan. Family will greet friends on Sunday, February 28th, from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Graveside services will take place Monday, March 8th, 2:30, at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd., Augusta, MI. Memorials
