Police found a 25-year-old Springcreek woman dead on an unmaintained road in Southwest Township in Warren County early Saturday morning.

After a search Friday, the body of Ashley J. Maine was found on Flat Road, which is less than a mile from Selkirk Road, according to Warren-based state police. Police said Maine died of exposure.

After finding her vehicle stuck in a ditch on Selkirk Road, state police and Grand Valley volunteer firefighters followed her lone tracks through a wooded area to the road, police said. The search started at 7 p.m.

Maine was last heard from around 11:30 p.m. Thursday when she drove a female friend home. The two had been drinking at a bar in Titusville, police said. It was noted that Maine drove from the friend's house in the wrong direction on Route 27.

Police plan to continue investigating. Anyone with information should contact state police or Crime Stoppers.
