Allison Socher Harwood, 23, passed away on March 25, 2010.

Allison was a beautiful girl who brought joy to her family and all who knew her and is deeply missed. She died peacefully in her sleep at her Camarillo family home.

Allison was a graduate of Pleasant Valley School District elementary schools, Camarillo High School and was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Physics from California State University, Channel Islands and a graduate Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science.

A native of Long Beach, Allison enjoyed fishing trips with her father including albacore tuna fishing off Ventura coast and hosting brother Daniel on pony rides and "action movies."

Allison loved to participate in activities of the Ventura County Fair and fish off the Ventura County Pier where she won awards in fishing competition. She was an active member of a Camarillo Girl Scout troop, the Boys' & Girls' Club, a member of the choir and the Scorpion yearbook staff at Camarillo High School and participated in a summer Spanish language study exchange program in Cuernavaca, Mexico while a student at CSUCI and an educational visit to Italy while a student at the former Los Altos Middle School.

In 2004, Allison was selected as Camarillo High School's American Indian Student of the year by the Ventura County American Indian Education Consortium.

Highlights of Allison's medical technology service were as a Laboratory Research Assistant for Dr. N. Parmar at CSUSI and intern assignments in the Radiology Department os Los Robles Regional Medical Center and at UCLA Medical Center.

Allison is survived by her parents Warren and Cheryl Harwood; brothers, Daniel and David Harwood; uncles Clyde and Glenn Harwood; aunts April Harwood, Zolena Rumsey and Harriett Davis; and former Long Beach Mayor Ernie Kell and former Vice Mayor Jackie Kell, godparents.
