Family members recalled Levi McVicker as a caring person who liked to keep the mood light.

"He was easy to get along with," his sister Sheena McVicker said Wednesday evening.

Levi McVicker, 20, of Fairview, died Tuesday evening at Ruby Memorial Hospital from injuries suffered during a car accident earlier in the day, according to West Virginia State Police.
At 5:49 p.m. Tuesday, McVicker was driving a 1993 Subaru Impreza westbound on W.Va. 7, near Core. His vehicle ran off the road and collided with a tree, according to a state police press release.

McVicker was sent to Ruby, where he later died.

The crash is still under investigation.

Sheena McVicker said Levi was a fun-loving person and the one who helped keep the family in a good mood.

"If you were around him, you were not serious," Sheena McVicker said.

He was also a compassionate person, his sister said, recalling one story in particular. When they were both youngsters, their grandfather gave them each a U.S. Savings Bond.

Recently, Levi cashed in his bond, so he could buy presents for his niece, Sheena McVicker said.
