Kathryn "Katie" Sungbo Christianson, 19, of Chattanooga, died on October 1, 2009, in Sewanee, Tennessee.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Katie was a 2008 graduate of Notre Dame High School.

She was the Coxswain for the crewteam at UTC and then for the University of South at Sewanee, where she was a sophomore at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Kenneth Carl Christianson, and maternal grandmother, Sarah Choi.

She is survived by her parents, Jonathan and Cynthia Christianson of Chattanooga; brother, Aaron Christianson; paternal grandmother, Shirley Christianson, of Jewell, Iowa; maternal grandfather, Kichul Choi of Tacoma, Wa.; and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Tom Macafie officiating. The interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Landry Smith and members of the crewteam.
