Two swimmers, one senior and one teen, have died in separate Wisconsin rivers.

In Eau Claire, a 93-year-old man drowned Monday while swimming in the Chippewa River.

The man's home is on the river and neighbor, Terri Eslinger, says he would often go swimming. Eslinger says she had been the man's neighbor for 37 years.

Fire officials say witnesses told them a strong current swept him away from family members. His body was recovered about 6:30 p.m., an hour after he went under.

In Rusk County, 17-year-old Cody Gunn of rural Sheldon, died Monday while swimming with friends in the Flambeau River. The group had been diving from the Highway I bridge into the river. The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram says Gunn was a student at Flambeau High School.
