Carl Samsair of the NTCA of the Central West Region, lost his only daughter Shanaz, 24, in a tragic car accident in Florida yesterday. The North Texas Cricket Association player was overcome with emotion when contacted by phone earlier today.
The unfortunate accident occurred while Shanaz Samsair was being driven by her 19-year old brother Imran, and accompanied by a young male friend of his. A heartbroken father, Carl Samsair lamented the loss of his daughter, saying she was a keen supporter of her younger brother's cricketing effort, and an avid cricket fan. Shanaz was also very supportive of her father's enthusiasm for and contributions to the sport, especially in the areas of youth cricket, in the State of Texas.
Shanaz Samsair had recently purchased a home in the Fort Lauderdale area of Florida, and was looking forward to settling down in the sunshine State. It's a tragic loss for the family, as well as her many friends, who are shocked by the untimely passing of the bright and vivacious 24-year old young woman.
Following a Funeral Service in Orlando, Florida today, Ms. Samsair will be laid to rest in Dallas, on Monday, June 28.
USA Cricket extends its sincere sympathy to the Samsair family for their tragic loss and during this difficult time.
