Kim Jacumin, 50, of Charlotte, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Valdese, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Kim was born October 2, 1960 in Burke County, a daughter of the late Ralph William Jacumin and her biological mother, the late Glenda Lou Ann Bailey Johnson, and her mother, Dorothy 'Dot' Burke Jacumin of Rutherford College. She was a member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church of Rutherford College and was employed as a practice manager of MMG Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Services. Kim was an active member of Western Carolina University Phi Mu sorority.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Emile Martin and Mamie Mull Jacumin and her maternal grandparents, Clara Powell Buff and William Alexander Bailey.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy; her son, Justin Conner Ehrenfreund of the home; five brothers, William Bill Jacumin, Jeffery Jacumin, Robert White, Oral White and wife Judy, all of Rutherford College and Noel White and wife Monica of Granite Falls; two sisters, Judy Jacumin of Hickory and Cheryl Roper and fiance Brian Chapman of Rutherford College; fifteen nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.

Funeral Services for Kimberly Jacumin will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, November 15, 2010 in the Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church, with Rev. Sally Queen and Rev. Dr. Kevin Fredrick officiating. Entombment will follow in the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.
