Keyarah Avasett Conklin, 12, of Walton, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 14, 2010, at Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton. Keyarah was born on January 21, 1998 in Sidney, the daughter of Matthew C. Conklin and Meranda J. Spry. Keyarah was a student in the 7th grade at Walton Central School. She played clarinet and drums, was in the Marching Band and Chorus, and played volleyball, soccer, basketball, field hockey, and baseball. Keyarah loved the outdoors. She enjoyed 4-wheeling, driving the Mule, reading, and riding her favorite horse, Shatayna. She was outgoing, fun-loving, free-spirited, and a nurturing big sister, cousin, daughter, granddaughter, niece, and friend. Keyarah is survived by her loving family: her father, Matthew (Lorie) Conklin, Hancock; her mother, Meranda (Joe Hanrahan) Spry, Walton; brothers: Kevin Conklin, Kaden Conklin, Michael Hanrahan, and stepbrother Garrett Chirico; grandparents, Craig (Heather) Conklin of Deposit, Vickie Crissell of Endicott, Debbie Seymour of Walton, Tina and Brian Hanrahan of Walton; great-grandparents, Vere and Cordia Conklin of Deposit, Barbara and Harold Seymour of Deposit; aunt and uncles, Airelle Spry, Jarred Robinson, Angella Seymour, Vicky Hanrahan, Jeanine and Anthony Palermo, Stacie and Danielle Conklin; special cousin, Shannon Baudendistel; cousins: Ty and Lo Robinson, Hadassah Stafford and Ibn Abdallah, Nicholas Locke, Andrew and Jayden Palermo. She was predeceased by her grandfather, David Spry; and her great-grandparents, Paul and Doris Stiles. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday evening, November 18, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where services will be held Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
