Adam Daniel Hurd, born on May 15th, 1987 in Vancouver, WA and passed away on Aug. 25th, 2011 after losing his battle with heroin addiction at the age of 24.
The loss of Adam is overshadowed by the love of his friends and family who knew him for his kind and gentle nature, soft heart and how big he loved reptiles (especially snakes), sand dunes, Baker, Oregon and heavy metal music. Adams decision to be an organ donor confirms his giving nature.
His sister Hannah said "Adam was a very outgoing person, not boring to be with. He always forgave a person and never held a grudge. He was a very creative loving person who was respectful and great to be around." Adam will be missed.
Adam is survived by his mother, Jodie Edwards (Fries, Hurd); his father, Terry Hurd; his sisters, Jenny Vinnard, Erica Hurd, Hannah Edwards, Crystal Hornsby; his grandfathers, Fred Fries and Larry Romero; his step-father, Ron Edwards; and special friend, Emily.
A celebration of Adam's life will be held at the home of Jodie and Ron Edwards, Sept. 10th, 2011 from 2-5 p.m., 3117 NW 121st St., Vancouver, WA.
A fund has been established in Adam Hurd's honor at the Oregon Zoo because of his love of Reptiles. Memorial contributions may be sent to The Adam Hurd Memorial Fund at the Oregon Zoo Foundation, 4001 SW Canyon Road, Portland, OR 97221 or online at www.oregonzoofoundation.org.
