Three people killed in an accident Wednesday morning have been identified as Jacob Johns, 17, and Beverly Denny, 52, both of Green Bay, and Sebastian Scharenbroch, 19, of Oconto.

All three people were passengers of a van that collided with a truck on Wisconsin 156 before it caught fire. Shawano County Coroner Mike Jesse pronounced the victims dead at the scene.

The van was westbound on Wisconsin 156 near Silver Lane when it went into a skid about 8:20 a.m. before it collided with the truck that was traveling eastbound, said Capt. Thomas Tuma of the Shawano County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday. The van was on fire when crews arrived.

The driver of the van, 37-year-old Connie Dean of Green Bay, and two other passengers, 22-year-old Latisha Denny of Oneida and 18-year-old Edward Cloud of Green Bay, were injured in the crash. The driver of the truck, 56-year-old Calvin Steward of Appleton, received nonlife-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
