A Manteca man who died in an early morning accident on Highway 99 on Sunday was identified Tuesday as 27-year-old Christopher Alcales.

Alcales was driving north on the freeway about 2:10 a.m. when he drifted into the center median, according to the California Highway Patrol.

His car then traveled to the right, crossing all three lanes and overturned, causing fatal injuries to Alcales.
