A young woman was gunned down on a busy street and police are still looking for the people responsible.

The young woman that was killed in her car was identified as 23-year old Ebony Turner of KCK.

She died from a gunshot wound while driving down Parallel Parkway.

And now a local pastor who met the victim several weeks ago says enough is enough when it comes to violence.

Just after noon Sunday, KCK police officers were called to the area of 26th Street and Parallel Pkwy. on a shooting call.

When they got there, they found a woman shot laying outside her car.

Rev. Charles Davis is a pastor at local church, and he says what he is seeing with all this violence is complete disregard for the law.

"I look at this as a battlefield. It is like a war zone out here in the streets. You're dealing with an element that is funded by drugs, no respect for the law and no respect for other people," said Davis.

For several hours Sunday afternoon, detectives were on the scene. Police had much of the parkway blocked as the investigation went on through the early evening hours.

As much traffic as Parallel Parkway can see on any given day, Davis says someone driving could've seen something that can help police, and he says they need to do the right thing.

"Somebody had to see what was going on they had to see a license plate, they had to see the driver. What should've happened is that 911 should've been called," said Davis.

Davis has seen the dark side. Growing up just outside of Compton, he said he led a life he is not proud of and now he helps people become better people.

"It is sad to me when you meet somebody for the first time and then you hear their life was taken unnecessarily," said Davis. "Whoever did the shooting, you need to turn yourself in. It is that simple. You need to turn yourself in."

Police need the communities help in solving this case and remind tipsters that they can remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward if their tip leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
