Karolyn Kathleen Mayse Kelley of Grand Prairie, Texas went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2012. She was born on June 19, 1964 in Bellaire, Texas to Robert H. and Mary Ann Mayse. After graduating from Cypress Creek High School in northwest Houston, Karolyn received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Economics and minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University class of '86. She moved to Dallas, and while working at EDS, earned a Master's degree in Political Economy from UT/Dallas, graduating in 1989. In 1993, Karolyn began a nineteen year career with Bank of America, and at her untimely death from complications following surgery, held a position as Vice President in Trust Operations. In 1994, Karolyn married the late David Lee Kelley, with their daughter Chandler Regan Kelley surviving. Besides her parents and beloved daughter, Karolyn is survived by her sister Sheri Mayse Noelke and niece Jessica of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by her grandmother Nell Mayse, a step-son Bryce Alan Kelley and his two children, special friend David Thayer, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Karolyn was preceded by her nephew John Robert Hoffmann and several grand-parents. Karolyn was a wonderfully caring and considerate person who never knew a stranger. She was much loved, and will be greatly missed. A viewing will be held Friday April 13 from 6-8pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6000 S.R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas 75232. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday April 14, 2012 at The Woods United Methodist Church, 1350 W. Bardin Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052.
