Willie Venegas
Feb. 9, 1991 - June 25, 2012
Resident of Aptos
The physical life of Willie Venegas, beloved son and brother of Fernando, Karen and Jessa, ended unexpectedly on Monday, June 25. We miss his ability to speak his mind and passionately argue his position, his ability to listen deeply, his keen and quick wit, his joyous love of gloving and long walks at night, and how delightedly he shared his eclectic love of music and theater.
Known for his pink shirts, Willie was a quirky, unique soul. His accidental overdose is a stereotype that Willie himself would hate - that what we adults say can actually happen. While we are heartbroken, we want Willie's legacy to be this: love each other and your friends. Be fierce with them in action and in words, and use your one, precious life to make choices that forward your dreams.
