A body has been recovered from the waters off the beach in Seaside Park, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday.

Authorities said they will begin efforts to positively identify the victim.

Rescue workers began searching the waters off the O Street beach in Seaside Park after Bestavros Faris, 18, of Bayonne, went missing while swimming Wednesday afternoon.

In Asbury Park, the body of another man was recovered around 10:15 a.m. today.

Authorities said that is believed to be the body of Chazmin Miles, 23, of Irvington, who went missing Wednesday evening in the water off the Second Avenue beach in the city.

The Asbury Park body was found in 15 feet of water about 200 yards off shore, said Garrett Giberson, a spokesman for the fire department.

That body has been taken by boat to Shark River Coast Guard Station.

Miles went missing as he tried to help his younger sister, who was rescued Wednesday evening.

The guards started full-time in Seaside Park today after guarding the beaches only on weekends after Memorial Day, Gomulka said.

While the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration listed the rip current risk as low for New Jersey, it also said that strong currents could occur near piers and jetties.
