Eston William Nelson II, 15, of Ellamore, WV, went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2011. He is the son of and was truly loved by his father Eston William "Bill" Nelson and his mother Joyce Elaine Lamb Nelson. He was born April 18, 1996, in the St. Joseph's Hospital, Buckhannon, WV, with the help of Dr. Joseph Reed.
He is survived by and loved by a brother, Patrick I. Bodkin and wife Melissa of Elkins, and three sisters: Amber E. Nelson of Elkins, Heather D. Bodkin Harris and husband Kevin of Buckhannon, and Wendi L. Nelson Sampson and husband Ronald of Elkins. Also surviving and loved by his Uncle Pastor Mitch Nelson and wife Jan of Orange Beach, Alabama and Aunt Joni Nelson Tingle and husband Buck of Friendswood, Texas and a grandmother Carol J. Nelson.

Also surviving and loved by several nieces and nephews: Trey and Athena Bodkin; Bradley Sampson of Elkins, Cory Tingle of Texas; and Abigael E. Harris of Buckhannon. Cousins: Matthew and Emily Grandusky of Ellamore; Carlie and Brook Tingle of Texas; Matthew, Adam and Rebecca Shifflett; and many other family members. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents: Glenville and Mildred Cain Lamb; paternal grandparents: Roosevelt W. "Bill" Nelson and Edna Louise Elizabeth Weese Nelson Bodkins. An aunt: Diana Marie Nelson Shifflett.

Eston attended the Belington Elementary School for the first 5 years, one year at the 3rd Ward School in Elkins, Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School, and his freshman and the beginning of his sophomore year at the Buckhannon-Upshur High School. During the summer of his freshman year, he attended the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas. Eston was proud of wearing the eagle, globe, and anchor on his uniforms and always was Semper Fidelis to God and every person he knew. Eston knew no stranger. He treated everyone he knew with respect. Teachers stated he would help all the kids in the class who needed help. He did other kids' homework to help them pass. His demeanor in sports was unblemished like his grades; he carried a 4.0 GPA. His appearance always showed the pride he took in himself. If you look good, you do well. He took pride in everything he did. This past summer he began training for football, having never played it before, and went on to hold several positions this season including lineman for the JV football team at Buckhannon-Upshur. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, riding his dirt bike and learning to ride his newest addition, a 600 Yamaha. He took his mom on rides with the family ATV as well as taking several of his friends and his family member when they would come over to spend time with him. The foreign exchange students Khiem and An from South Vietnam became brothers for the short time they were in America. I would love to print all his friends' names, but I would be writing a book as he was only 15 and half years old.

He had his pets to play with at home which he loved, including Kobe, the dog that thought he was a little puppy, Oreo, the demon dog that would fight with him and sound like he was going to hurt him only to stop growling and lick his face to say he loved him. Furby, the old dog that endured Eston's mischief and praise. His cat Nebo, a stray cat, became a member of the family as Eston was determined to save him and did so with the help of his mother. Eston hated bullying and the threat of harm for no apparent reason. To honor our son we only wish that all who knew him would help stop and get rid of bullying. Not only in the schools but everywhere.

Friends will be received on Monday, November 21, 2011, from 4:00-8:00 PM, at the Sand Run Baptist Church. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at the Sand Run Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Butcher officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, WV. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the account of Eston W. Nelson at Premier Bank, Inc. in Buckhannon, WV.
