Solomon Ahmad Atighi, 25, of San Diego died early Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash while riding westbound on the Interstate Route 15 Freeway connector to the westbound State Route 52, according to a press release issued by the San Diego Medical Examiner's Office.
About 2:40 a.m., the Cal State San Marcos student was riding his motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curved part of the roadway. Atighi lost control of his Honda CBR 600 motorcycle, he crashed and was ejected onto the roadway, the report said. The report indicated that Atighi was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.
A motorist who was passing by the scene of the accident stopped to assist Atighi and called 911. Paramedics arriving at the scene of the solo motorcycle accident attempted to revive Atighi, but he died at the scene due to his injuries.
