Paige Snoeys' smile was one everyone loved to see.

But it's a smile they'll see no more after the 17-year-old Holy Cross Catholic secondary school student died in a crash Monday.

"What I'll remember most about her is her smile," principal Dan Howard said Tuesday. "She was always smiling, a really bubbly personality. She loved her art and soccer."

Snoeys was killed and her 14-year-old sister, Mallory, injured in a crash on Irish Dr. near Melbourne Rd. around 3:30 p.m. Monday after they left school.

Paige was in Grade 12 and Mallory in Grade 9.

Police continue to investigate the crash, but have ruled out driver distraction, alcohol and weather conditions as causes.

"What we're looking at is speed and driver inexperience," said Strathroy-Caradoc police Sgt. Mark Campbell.

"It's a real tragedy."

At the school, the London District Catholic school board's tragic response team was there to offer counselling for shocked students and staff, while Rev. Lucio Couto offered prayers.

Howard said Snoeys was well-liked in school and volunteered as a peer helper mentoring junior students.

"That's the type of person she was," he said. "It's a very sad day here."
