The father of a young man who drowned off the Bolivar Peninsula says Riley Amick was 'an amazing son' who had a smile that is 'the first thing most people remember about him.'

The 24-year-old from Pearland drowned Tuesday while he was wade fishing just east of Rollover Pass. Investigators tell KFDM News Amick was fishing with a friend and called for help but the current was too strong for the friend to get to Amick.

A Coast Guard crew in a helicopter spotted his body. Firefighters recovered the body and brought it to shore.

Visitation is Sunday in Pearland. His funeral is Monday, also in Pearland.
