Aaron Paul Nelson, age 22, of Wrenshall, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in an automobile accident at Gooseberry Falls on his way hunting. He was born January 5, 1989 in Duluth to Barry and Sandra (Kosanovich) Nelson and lived in Duluth for 12 years prior to moving to Wrenshall. Aaron graduated from Carlton High School in 2007 with high honors and was a member of the National Honor Society. He played on the high school football and hockey teams and was in the Drama Club. Aaron received his private pilot license from Lake Superior College at the age of 19 and was currently enrolled in the Law Enforcement Program at Fond du Lac Community College. He loved hunting, fishing, water skiing, and spending time with his family at the cabin. Aaron was a kind and happy kid that cared deeply about family and the people around him. Aaron loved life.

Aaron was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nikolas and Ellen Kosanovich and his paternal grandfather, Ronald Nelson. He is survived by his parents, Barry and Sandra Nelson of Wrenshall; two brothers, Derek Nelson of Cloquet and Matthew Nelson of Wrenshall; his fiancé, Katie Zezulka of Cloquet; paternal grandparents; Donna "Marlene" and Roger Fjone of Proctor; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2011 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation will resume on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet, followed with a luncheon in the church social hall.
