A man was rushed to a hospital after a shooting in Sanford, but he died from his injuries.

Authorities said 24-year-old Keran Stanislaus was shot at a home in the area of Placid Woods Court about 11 p.m.

The war veteran and father of four was pronounced dead at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

"He went to Afghanistan and he survived a car bomb. After (that), he went to Fort Hood and he survived that shooting, only to get out and come home and die here on the streets," said the victim's older brother, Larry Douglas.

Douglas said he was driving to Florida to visit the family when he got the call.

"He was the glue that held the family together," said Douglas.

Family members said the incident started with an argument between friends, and then someone opened fire.

"To come home and be shot seven times, it's a heartache," said the victim's sister, Jeannita Jones.

Family members have put up a sign in their front yard, hoping a $5,000 reward will get someone to talk to authorities.

"They know who did it, say something. (Those who) know something, say something," said Douglas.
