The decedent was an 18 year old male who resided with his family in a home in the city of Escondido. On the afternoon of 05/17/12, he was playing basketball when he suddenly collapsed forward to the ground. When assessed he was without a pulse and 9-1-1 was called. When first responders arrived, ACLS was applied and transported to Palomar Medical Center. ACLS was continued however despite an aggressive resuscitative effort, his death was pronounced. He had no medical history.
