Derek Wayne Freeman, 45, of Nixa Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born Tuesday, September 19, 1967, in Wichita, Kansas, to Rome and Clydene (Stancer) Freeman. He was a 1986 graduate of Kickapoo High School, earned a degree in Dental Laboratory Technology from Texas State Technical College in Harlingen TX, and spent over 20 years working in the waste oil heating industry. Derek also attended James River Assembly in Ozark.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his son, Brian Freeman, of Nixa; his mother, Clydene Freeman, of Springfield; his brother, Kent Freeman, and family of Springfield; his sister, Roma Peace, and family of Perth, Australia; and a special friend, Shanda Millard, of Ozark.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 27, 2013 in James River Assembly of God, Clark Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Saturday, January 26, in Walnut Lawn Funeral Home.
