Brittany Leigh Hewett was a devoted professional wrestling fan and once posed for photographs with her favorite wrestlers when they came to town. She also loved Tinkerbell.

Her father, Darryl Hewett, said her family talks often about how unique she was.

"She was not conceited, but she talked about herself a lot," he said with a smile. "She was not shy, that's for sure."

On July 17, Brittany, 18, was driving south on Malmo Loop Road N.E. in a 1994 Ford Explorer, when she ran off the road to the right, drove back onto the road and crossed the center line, over-corrected, then overturned several times. She wasn't wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car and killed.

Before her death, Brittany had just graduated from home schooling and worked in a day care, a passion for kids she might have turned into a career, her father said.
