Michael C. Abron, 19, Kansas City, Mo., tragically passed away March 8, 2008. According to police reports, on Friday March 14, the victim, Michael C. Abron, had been at a family gathering on Saturday evening when members of the rival gang entered Gates Bar-B-Q. Mr. Abron, his sister and two other men left to avoid a conflict, but were allegedly followed by members of the competing group.
At a stoplight on about 46th Street and Paseo Boulevard, two vehicles pulled alongside the victim's vehicle, and the occupants opened fire. Mr. Abron was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Farewell services 1 p.m. Monday, March 17, at New Vision Christian Church, 9101 Blue Ridge Blvd. Burial at Brooking Cemetery, Raytown, Mo. Visitation 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at the church.
