Kalamazoo Public Safety is investigating a double fatal single vehicle traffic crash that happened early Friday. Around 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of Paterson and Cobb Streets, first responders found the vehicle's engine compartment on fire and two people trapped in the vehicle. The fire was quickly extinguished, but the two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 38-year-old Terry Lanier of Kalamazoo. The female passenger has yet to be positively identified. Autopsies are scheduled to be conducted and the crash remains under investigation.
