Donald J. Desrochers, 48, of Davis Avenue, died on Sept. 16, 2013, at Goodall Hospital in Sanford after a period of declining health.

Donald has a twin brother, Dennis; they were born on July 2, 1965, in Sanford at Goodall Hospital to Robert R. and Eleanor F. (Velandry) Desrochers.

Donald grew up in Sanford, where he went to school, and was a graduate of Sanford High School.

For many years, he worked various jobs, including carpentry, inside and out, and painting for local companies.

Donald was an avid fisherman and enjoyed getting away outdoors at the lakes and oceans. Donald was also a major fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots; he tried as any fan to watch as many games as he could to support his teams.

Surviving are his parents, Robert and Eleanor Desrochers; his twin brother, Dennis Desrochers; brother, Mark Desrochers, and his, wife Linda; two sisters, Debbie Adams and her husband, Mike, and Brenda LaPlante and her husband, Rick; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Friday, Sept 20, at the Autumn Green Funeral Home in Alfred, with Brother Ted Letendre officiating. A calling hour was held before the service.
