Peter Charles Lyon, age 28, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, June 9, 2011, in Provo, Utah.

Peter was born July 27, 1982, in Salt lake City, Utah, to David R. and Anne M. Lyon. He attended elementary and middle schools in Utah, Virginia and South Dakota and high school in Northfield, graduating in 2000. He was active in basketball and cross country running, played the bass in the orchestra and sang in the men's choir. He also occasionally performed with the Cannon Valley Orchestra. He was an Eagle Scout. Peter attended the University of Minnesota for a year after which he served a two-year mission for the LDS church in Buenos Aires Argentina. He was attending BYU studying Applied Physics.


Peter is survived by his parents of Eagan, Minn.; twin brother, Jesse (Kristi) Lyon of Bountiful, Utah; brothers, Thomas (Amber) Lyon of Blue Earth, Minn., and Joseph Lyon of Curitiba, Brazil; sisters, Elizabeth Lyon and Catherine Lyon, both Eagan; two nephews he doted on, Anthony and James; grandmother, Margie Lyon; and many aunts, uncles and cousins with their families.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in Provo, Utah. Interment was June 15 in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery in Provo.
