Dominic Schlundt, 29, of Corvallis, was killed Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20, state police said.

Police said the wreck happened shortly after 9 p.m. when Schlundt's 1984 Chevrolet Blazer was hit from behind by a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. Both vehicles were headed east when the collision occurred.

The Blazer spun out of control and came to rest in a roadside ditch. Schlundt was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Investigators suspect that the crash victim was not wearing a seat belt. Kyle Cooper, 30, of Albany, who was driving the Avalanche, apparently was uninjured and is believed to have been wearing a seat belt.
