A life is best measured not in the years lived but the living in the years. After a long series of illnesses, Tom went home to his Lord on March 5th surrounded by a loving family. Although only 56, Tom squeezed every ounce of living and laughter into each day. He was born in Omaha to Keith and Marge, and was blessed to call Bellevue, Brussels, Houston, Snowmass, Portland, St. Louis and finally Vancouver as home. From an early age, Tom was a gifted, ambidextrous athlete. He skied the Alps and the Rockies and played American team sports in Europe. He graduated high school from the International School in Brussels and attended the University of Houston. A career dedicated to the hospitality industry, he was a natural host and salesman, finishing his professional life with a boutique coffee roaster in Portland.

Tom is survived by his son, Michael (Frances); wife, Bunny; Bunny's children and grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Sue) and Kerry (Marilyn); sisters, Kim and Lisa; and a gaggle of nephews and nieces who all loved Uncle Tom to bits.

There will be a celebration of Tom's life on Saturday, April 5th at 11 a.m. at Countryside Community Church in Sherwood, Oregon. Tom was always at the center of great parties and he would expect and accept nothing but laughter, storytelling and toasts. -
